Tune in Tuesday Week 2

Tune in Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Ginger at GReads that showcases music.  Music for me is right up there with reading and writing, so even though this particular meme isn't about reading and writing, I thought it would be a fun one to participate in. If you're interested in participating, be sure to check out Ginger's blog so you can spread your love of music!

I’m thinking of doing a theme and highlighting indie music (indie writer talking indie music? hmm), but that might change. And since I’m not exactly up on current music, some of the bands might have once been indie, but aren’t currently. These days, I don't exactly listen to much other than U2, and I figured I probably shouldn't choose U2 songs every week lol.
Another Canadian indie band this week...

This week's featured song:
Ready to Start by Arcade Fire
This is just audio of the song
Favorite lines from this song:
"Now you're knocking at my door
Saying please come out with us tonight
But I would rather be alone
Than pretend I feel alright"

"If I was scared, I would
And if I was pure, you know I would
And if I was yours, but I'm not
Now I'm ready to start"

"I would rather be wrong
Than live in the shadows of your song"
My personal story behind this choice: I LOVE Arcade Fire. You might know them better as 'that band at last year's Grammy Awards who seemingly came out of nowhere, surprised everyone, and won Album of the Year'. Well, I was one of the people jumping up and down in my living room, yelling excitedly at my TV.
The same friend who introduced me to last week's feature, Pilot Speed, introduced me to Arcade Fire about 6 or 7 years ago. Not too long after I became familiar with their music, I got to see them open for U2 in Ottawa in November 2005. They were freaking amazing. I really, really hope to have the chance to see them live again someday.
Their album entitled Funeral remains my favorite because it was the first one I was introduced to, and I listened to it endlessly, especially before and after I saw them live. And even though I have a few favorites from that album, I chose Ready to Start from their newest album The Suburbs because it's one of my current obsession songs that once I play it, I have to play it over and over. Side note: I heard somewhere years ago that playing a song over and over is a sign of insanity. I must be certifiable then, because I've done that my entire life lol. Anyway, I hope you love this song as much as I do!
Check out the Arcade Fire website to learn more about the band.

My weekly U2 lyric:
"Of science and the human heart
There is no limit
There is no failure here, sweetheart
Just when you quit
I am you and you are mine
Love makes nonsense of space
And time will disappear
Love and logic keep us clear
Reason is on our side, love"
